General Information

 

Fairyland is located in Valletta and Floriana. With most of its attractions spread around the Triton Fountain and its vicinity.
Fairyland is located exactly in the drop-off zone of all centre Public Transport leading to Valletta.

For all those travelling by car, several Car Parks are available around the area.

No! Fairyland has no admission fee; you only pay for the attractions you choose to visit.

 

Penguin’s Ice Rink sessions are 50 minutes in duration, kindly arrive 20 minutes prior to the session timings to get your skates on!)

Rudolph’s Big Wheel may take up to 10 minutes.

Other attractions may take up to 5 minutes.

 

A cloakroom is not available. Small bags may be stored with the shoes. Bags are not permitted onto the ice.

You will have the opportunity to meet Santa and even get a photo taken by our official photographers as well as receiving a present from Santa himself! More information on timings and booking details will be revealed closer to the day.

We suggest that you come and say Hello yourself! He will be very pleased to see you together with his Elves. Nice presents will be given to all those that were very good this year!

 

Fairyland is aimed for everyone. We often welcome three generations of families together for a day out! There are rides and attractions for children as young as 2, with more rides for the older ones. We have two shows which are spectacular for families.

Safety at Fairyland

The safety and comfort of our visitors is a priority. Fairyland has a management safety plan in place, which has been implemented by our event health and safety consultants and the Malta Police Force

At Fairyland a child is classed as 12 years and under. No children will be admitted to the event unless accompanied by a person aged 16 years or over. Children must always remain under the supervision of such a person. The site and attraction managers reserve the right to determine the ratio of adults in relation to children required for adequate supervision.

 

Fairyland is an outdoor event so make sure you dress appropriately as we will be open in rain, wind or shine!

There are many benches throughout the site for you to rest your legs whilst soaking up the festive spirit!

 

Ice skating can be hazardous. The use of the Ice Rink is entirely at your own risk. Fairyland is not responsible for any injuries arising from your use of the Ice Rink. Skaters must follow the instructions of the marshals at all times. The Rink Manager reserves the right to remove those deemed as a risk to the safety of others.

The Ice Rink operates in all conditions – please bring suitable clothing as no refunds will be given due to inclement weather.

It is a good idea to bring a change of socks on wet days.

Children of 12 years or under must be accompanied on the ice and remain under the control or supervision of a person of 16 years or over at all times.

The Rink Manager reserves the right to determine the ratio of adults in relation to children required for adequate supervision.

 

When purchasing alcohol at the Event, a means of identification must be shown.

Ticketing and Concessions

How to buy cashless coins at Fairyland.

  1. All rides at fairyland accept cashless coins only via a wristband.
  2. Buy a coin voucher in advance from https://www.visitmalta.com/en/events-in-malta-and-gozo/event/fairyland-santas-city/.
  3. On your arrival to Fairyland Santa’s City, make your way to Voucher Redemption at the Main Hub, where you will have your voucher scanned and coins applied to a wristband.
  4. If you haven’t bought a voucher you can Top up a wristband with cash and card at one of the Top-up Hubs.
  5. If you would like to buy a coin package at Fairyland, you can at one of the Top-up Hubs.
  6. Once you have coins on your wristband you’re free to spend at all the rides.

Don’t worry if you run out of coins, you can top up again with cash or card at one the Top up Hubs. Or by card at one of our self-service top up machines situated around Fairyland.
Wristbands can be used during Fairyland’s stay at the Triton Fountain, do not lose your wristband, what isn’t spent one day, can be spent on another.
Keep your wristband including the chip to refund what you don’t spend after Fairyland closes on the 2nd January 2022.

ADVANCE TOP UP OFFER
Get additional free coins on cashless vouchers of €80 or more! By buying your Cashless Voucher in advance you will have your own separate lane to redeem your voucher, to avoid big queues! This is called Voucher Redemption and is located in each Top-up Hub situated around the venue including either side of the fountain.

Every customer is entitled to a refund after the event for any real credit on their wristband which isn’t spent. Please note, this refund link will be posted on Fairyland Malta’s social media pages on Monday 3rd January 2022. At 12:00 on Monday 3rd January 2022, the link will go live.


All refunds will deduct a processing fee of €1.50.
Customers will have between 12:00 midday on Monday 3rd January 2022, until 12:00 Friday 7th January 2022 to process their refund.


All refunds must be applied for by 12:00 Friday 7th January 2022. After which you will not be able to apply for any leftover funds on your wristband.
Unredeemed Vouchers can be refunded during the refund period, 12:00 midday on Monday 3rd January 2022, until 12:00 Friday 7th January 2022.

100 Fairyland Coins (€100)

discounted to €80 (will pay €80 and will get 100 coins in return) – 20% discount

150 Fairyland Coins (€150)

discounted to €115 (will pay €115 and will get 150 coins in return) – 22.5% discount

200 Fairyland Coins (€200)

discounted to €150 (will pay €150 and will get 200 coins in return) – 25% discount

When purchasing alcohol at the Event, if you appear to be underage you may be asked for valid identification to confirm that you are aged 18 or over.

Each pod will contain a maximum of 6 people from the same group of family/friends.

Children under 3 will not need tokens for Rudolph’s Big Wheel & Santa’s Magical Carousel if they don’t occupy a seat (when sitting on an adult’s lap). Should your child prefer their own seat, this will need to be purchased.

Ice Skates

 

The minimum skate size on the rink is a children’s size 9 and maximum is an adult size 13 (with limited supply of size 15). Skate Hire is included in the Ice-Skating ticket price, but you are also encouraged to bring your own skates, subject to suitability checks (note – speed skates are NOT allowed).  We do recommend bringing a spare pair of socks on wet days and please ensure that your skates fit properly before taking to the ice, staff will be on hand to assist.

We do provide double-bladed skates for the tiniest of feet, but these are on a ‘first-come first-served’ basis.

 

We do have a limited number of penguin aids for the ice rink. These come at a hire cost and are STRICTLY on a first come first serve basis. We suggest making sure you arrive at least 20 minutes before your session to avoid disappointment.

Accessibility

 

Most of Fairyland is has a flat level flooring which is buggies friendly.

We also have a Chill Space located in Santa’s Favourite Chalet near Tritoni.

 

Wherever possible we tried to make access throughout the area as easy as possible. Rudolph’s Big Wheel is wheelchair accessible. We have also tried to make our eating and drinking areas as accessible as possible as well.

Although we will always try to be as fully inclusive as we possibly can at Fairyland, certain rides in the event are physically demanding and vigorous. Fairyland therefore reserves the right to refuse admission to any ride or attraction should we feel that there is an unacceptable risk to your safety, or the safety of others should they participate.

 

There are several Car Park’s available in the surrounding areas around Floriana and Valletta.

 

Yes, there are several Car Park’s available in the surrounding areas with special Disabled Parking’s available.

 

Accessible toilets are available at our toilet blocks throughout the venue.

Photography and filming

Photography and filming on-site at Fairyland are allowed for personal use only. Commercial or editorial photography or filming accreditation requests should go via our office in advance of arriving. Please email events@visitmalta.com All amateur photographers or filmmakers must also request permission to photograph or film at the event by email on events@visitmalta.com in advance of arriving on site. We thank you for your co-operation.

 

For safety reasons, you are not allowed to take photographs whilst on the ice rink. However, spectators can take photos of you from the viewing platforms around the rink.

Sustainability Policy

Visitors are strongly encouraged to travel to Fairyland by public transport. Fairyland will provide suitable facilities for visitors, traders and operators to recycle their waste. Power, lighting and water usage is kept to a minimum through careful planning. Traders and operators are encouraged to produce products from sustainable sources where possible and the vast majority of the Fairyland infrastructure is permanent or reused year after year. Fairyland uses local staff and crew where possible and encourage traders and operators to do the same.
